Hey Hey Daddy Blues
Blind Arthur Blake had to be, in my humble opinion, one of the greatest ragtime/blues guitarists of his time. The Reverend Gary Davis, who gave very few, if any compliments to his contemporaries, said 'Blake had a sportin' right hand.' Indeed Blake did!!! Blake's music had some serious swing to it, and it just wasn't caused his right hand. That left hand was doing all sorts of compelling and exciting things, such as his use of jazzy chords and progressions, arpeggios, triplets, walking bass lines, hot single line runs, double thumb swing and so much more.
All of that is included in this song, which I will teach you in WHOLE. You'll learn each part - intro, verses, scat verse and his exciting solo - exactly way Blake played it! Every lick and fancy move is within this lesson. I even explain how Blake used a common jazz chord progression to make the song move right along, and how to accent the 2 and 4 beats with both hands to create a real swinging sound!
By the lesson's end you WILL have a thorough command of Blake's style, and the confidence to tackle many of the other songs that he recorded. You will also be able to apply these techniques to make many of your other songs really swing!!
