Jivin' Woman Blues
One of the first books I found on the blues was 'The Story of the Blues' by Paul Oliver. Inside was a picture of this dapper looking musician holding a guitar I had never seen before. The caption read 'the influential singer Blind Boy Fuller. He played a steel-bodied National guitar with a circular diaphragm which acted as a powerful resonator."
I immediately headed to this local record shop which I knew carried obscure LPs. Sure enough, they had a Fuller album in stock. When I brought it home and heard the first song, I was immediately hooked on this music called 'ragtime' guitar. I was 16 and one of the songs was 'Jivin' Woman Blues.'
