One Dime Blues

  • 2 Steps

About

This song was taught to me from Etta Baker while I was visiting her at her home in Morganton, North Carolina. Originally played by Blind Lemon Jefferson, her version of the song is truly fun to play. Here you'll use the alternating bass technique while playing an independent melody on top, which was so characteristic of the Piedmont playing style she as famous for. Here's what you'll learn: https://youtu.be/IEwm_QED-BM If you're not familiar with Travis style, a.k.a, Piedmont picking, I'd suggest seeing the lesson 'Learning How To Fingerpick' on this website.
